1. Choose an invasive species that is causing problems in Iowa.

Everyone must have a DIFFERENT invasive species, except Emerald Ash Borer (EAB).  Any student who wants to can research the EAB.

Sorry guys, I didn't get a chance to put the exit slip on the blog yesterday. Being sick is hard work. Here's what you need to do for Tuesday, 12/17:

 SIXTH GRADE: Write eight sentences:
 Khuana is a complex, realistic character. Even though the setting is unfamiliar to us, we can relate to how she acts and reacts and we can understand her motivations. Explain three different things about Khuana that you admire. Then, explain two things about Khuana's character that she needs to improve (if she were a real person). Don't just list the character traits, write a sentence or two about each.

 EIGHTH GRADE: Write eight sentences:
 Kevin started calling himself and Max "Freak the Mighty" as a humorous response to being bullied. Is this an appropriate and fitting name for the two friends? Why do you think so?

JD Home Sick

Hi gang, I'm home sick today with a fever.  Don't forget MIDTERM grades are due!  If you have any missing work on pp.10-21, get it finished!

SIXTH GRADE - Schoolwide assembly.  After that, split your time between Read 180 Software and Fundamentals.  I have put Lesson 4-6 in your Drives for those of you who are ready (at least one person).

EIGHTH GRADE -

Whole Class - go over p.22 student model of an expository paragraph.  You are writing a five-paragraph essay about the internet, but your essay will still have these elements (it will just be longer).  We planned these yesterday on your graphic organizers, and you will get back to writing them Wednesday.
